[MUSIC PLAYING] BRENT AMUNDSON: At Dell, we recognize that people who are neurodivergent bring skills and experiences that really nobody else has. And at Dell, we really value creativeness, data, focus, and the ability to drive projects to completion. And so we decided we needed to tap into this community to help expand our talent base. DANIELLE BIDDICK: Our Neurodiversity at Dell program offers summer internships and full-time career opportunities across a variety of role types, including cybersecurity, software, development, procurement, finance, marketing, and more. The program provides an accommodated, skill-based interview process that is designed to remove barriers, and gives candidates an opportunity to showcase their skills and potential in a different way. STEVEN DELEON: I would definitely recommend the neurodiversity program. It's been an absolute life-changer. ORINAWA FOGLE: I just celebrated my four-year Dellversary, which is Dell anniversary. Kind of cute. And during those four years, I've had the chance to move and grow. I have a wonderful mentor who vouched for me to be trained, and moved to a team where I could really develop those skills and flourish. ALEX MARCH: Well, the workplace culture at Dell is very comforting. Since day one, when I walked into the office, I already felt like I was a part of the team. BRENT AMUNDSON: We have a workplace that encourages everybody to be their authentic selves at work and at home. Our neurodiversity program really helps people who are on the neurodivergent spectrum to come into the organization. And we teach and promote a practice with our hiring leaders and our people around the organization to really understand that everyone's different, learns differently, and delivers differently, but all in a very effective manner. ORINAWA FOGLE: My bosses have always been really good about my accommodations, about really looking out for my mental health in general. ALEX MARCH: Working with an external career coach has been one of the best things that's happened to me in the workplace. There's times where I need some communication help with other employees. By meeting my career coach, I'm able to comfortably talk about those situations. And the career coach is able to give me the right steps, so that I understand what needs to be said and what needs to be done. BRENT AMUNDSON: We want to encourage leaders to think differently about how they adapt their own style to be most effective in bringing the best talent into the organization. And the neurodiversity program helps us do that. It puts those two together to help there be success on both sides, both on the performance side and on the career development side. STEVEN DELEON: What I like day to day working at Dell is being able to contribute meaningfully to a project that, while bigger than me in scope, I know that my piece contributes to the larger picture.
