My name is Jordanlee Parra. I'm with AmeriCorps NCCC,

and I'm a team leader.

As a team leader, I act as a supervisor for the rest of the team.

The team environment is unique in many different aspects.

You are living with the people you are working with.

Your coworkers are also your suitemates, are also your roomates.

That's what's awesome about it.

It also brings in its challenges, but that's what makes it fun.

Working with AmeriCorps NCCC, in particular being a team leader,

has made me realize that, as humans, we're very unique.

We come from many different backgrounds, many different corners of the United States,

and we all come together in this one program, this one team.

We're thriving, we're surviving, we're excelling,

we are AmeriCorps.
