This is my third year in AmeriCorps NCCC.

I knew exactly who I wanted to be before I came in, which is someone

who focused on feelings and on growth and development.

I knew I would come back as a team leader.

I took all that experience I had as a core member, and I came back

to want to give that to others.

The impact that we've made this year is showing communities around this country

that someone actually cares.

Me and my team went to Arizona to work with the National Veterans

Wheelchair Games.

I don't really know if I can put it into words how impactful that was.

Everyone on my team has someone who's been in the service.

I didn't know something like that existed.

I think what I'll miss the most is seeing change in others.

There's something that happens whenever you're working for others

that really forces you to change and it forces growth.

If you're thinking about joining AmeriCorps NCCC,

you don't come here looking to help people.

You come here looking to walk alongside people.

I love myself

more than I ever have before, and I wouldn't be there without NCCC.
