- My name is Erin Lord and I am the director of human resources here at Go-Forth Pest Control. My day to day responsibilities and human resources is really being here to support the organization and our employees. I think sometimes HR almost gets a bad rap like we're the principal. And I hate that because really we're here to help people. I worked for a hospitality organization and customer service for them for almost a decade.

In that time frame, that's when I realized that I wanted to help people and make a difference. I'm a little bit goofy. I do love I guess you could call them traditional girly things. I love pink, I love sparkles, I love unicorns, all of those things. So it's amazing my husband has put up with me for 20 years and my love of those types of things. We've got three children. We also-- I love animals.

So we have an all white husky and it's pretty noticeable because she has a pink and purple tail. We also have two cats. They're both actually happen to be tail-less. We have a bearded dragon named Fred and then my husband has currently 5 Serna red tail boa constrictors. Right now, we're working on orientation and onboarding for new hires, and that really helps to increase engagement.

So when you have a new hire that comes in the door and you set them up for success. So we're welcoming them with open arms and treating them as part of our Go-Forth family. Ensuring that they have all of their equipment set up for them, so when they start we have their cell phone set up for them with signs to all of the systems that they use, like Pest routes and stuff, all of their gear set up for them. Those small things are really, really sets impressions of people and make something about wow they really thought about me before I came in the door, and they really care about me.

I'm passionate about what I do here really because I like people, and I want to help people. And I want to help employees grow and the organization grow. I'm just very excited to be here and very excited for the opportunity, and I look forward to all the awesome things that we're going to do together as a team at Go-Forth.
