INSTRUCTOR: Hello. Welcome to this video. Today, we're looking at PowerPoint and how you can embed a web page into a PowerPoint. Now, the occasion's where you need or want to have a website embedded in so that you can include the functionality of that website within your presentation. So, for example, it may be that you want to have a randomizer wheel embedded within your presentation to ave you having to jump out of your presentation and go to the website where that's contained. So the way to do that is to use add-ons. So add-ons add extra functionality to PowerPoint. They're available in a number of Office apps. So if you click Get Add-ons, and then you can search for your add-ons. So you can see, there are various ones here. So the one we're after is Web Viewer. We click Add. And then agree to terms and conditions and click Continue. It inserts in there. And then all you simply do is just paste your web page in, making sure that you get rid of the HTTP and just put www dot. And then click Preview. And it embeds the site. In the case of this one, it's Wheel Decide, which is a really fun randomizer tool. And you get that functionality. Now, there will be some that say they don't like the banner around the outside, but I think the functionality overweighs the disadvantages of it not being quite as it would be on the actual website. So if we just preview that, we can see it goes full screen. Obviously, it's slightly cropped for you and your video, if I was to pull it down, but it's going full screen nice and clearly. Once you've added it to your add-ons, if you need to use it in future, if we just insert a new slide, you'd simply just go to my add-ons. You'd find your add-ons there. Click Add-on. And it would appear. And then you can actually-- you don't have to have it full screen. You can have it a smaller view if you want. The key thing to remember is it has to be a HTTPS website. So it's a secure web link. If it's not an S, it's not going to work. And you have to remember-- even though it's very old school, you have to remember to add the three www dot before the address. Otherwise, you find it has problems. But I think it adds extra functionality. I think there are a number of sites which could benefit from being embedded into the web page. The other option is you just put in an article page, maybe, that you want students to read. So if you're sharing the presentation, you're giving them less distraction of jumping off and going off on the internet. So I hope you found the video useful.
