- Hey, folks, this is Haley from Biteable. Today, I'm going to show you how to quickly embed a video in PowerPoint. [MUSIC PLAYING] Videos are a great way to keep people engaged during your PowerPoint presentations. Whether it's a short, funny video or a stat heavy showcase, videos are the perfect way to spice things up. There are two ways to add a video into your PowerPoint. The first is to add a video from a file. The second is to add a video from a link. We'll start with adding a video from a file. Depending on what version of PowerPoint you're using, you can insert a video or a link to a video file on your computer. Embedding a video is convenient and reliable, but it does make your video file size larger. To add a video, select the slide you want to feature your video in. Then click the Insert tab. Click the arrow under Video and select Video On My PC. Navigate to the video you want to add and click Insert. Done. Alternatively, you can link to a video stored on your computer. This keeps your file size small, but your links will break if you move the source video to another location on your computer. Follow the first two steps, same as before. Start by selecting the slide you want to link your video to, then click the Insert tab. Select the arrow under Video and click Video On My PC. Now click the dropdown arrow beside insert and select Link To File. Select your video and you're good to go. We suggest storing your linked video in the same folder as your PowerPoint presentation, so they'll never lose each other. Friends forever. If you want to add an online video to your PowerPoint presentation without downloading it, there's a way to do that too. Here's how to add a video from an online link. Start by finding the video you want to add online. Then copy the URL from your address browser. Switch back over to PowerPoint and select the slide you want to add your video to. Select the Insert tab, then click Video followed by Online Video. Add the URL you copied from the web browser and click Insert. Now click the Play button to make sure your video has been inserted successfully. Adding a video to your PowerPoint presentation is one thing. Adding a video that takes your PowerPoint presentation to the next level is another. You can use Biteable to make professional videos that will take your presentation from 0 to hero in minutes.
